George M. Hall Co was established in 1893 and has been located in Homestead since the beginning. It was founded by George M. Hall and soon after was bought by long time employee S.L Kennedy and has been in the Kennedy family for four generations. George M. Hall Co is still family owned and family operated by the Kennedy family.The business was originally located on 7th avenue next to the high-level bridge in West Homestead. In 1973 the original building caught fire and was burnt to the ground around Christmas of 1973. The fire is still talked about amongst locals because of its intensity and how long it burned for. The business was then relocated to Forest Avenue just a few away from the old location.
