Nomaflex® is an expansion joint filler product used in residential, commercial, civil, municipal and industrial applications.
Named as one of the 2017 Most Innovative Products at World of Concrete, Nomaflex expansion joint filler is much easier to install and offers superior performance with less waste than asphalt impregnated fiberboard. It can be used with hot-pour or cold-applied sealants. Nomaflex prevents three-sided adhesion and can be used without a bond breaker. It also has no odor or sticky residue and is resistant to oils, gas, salts and other chemicals.
Nomaflex is now listed in Product Master Spec: 033000 – Cast-In-Place Concrete and 321313 – Concrete Paving.
Why Nomaflex?
Nomaflex can be stored outside and will not absorb water, break, flake or leach. It is flexible, yet rigid enough to be passed across a wet pour and can be used as a form. Nomaflex is less expensive to install and can be installed using traditional installation methods. Common residential, commercial and industrial installations using Nomaflex include, but are not limited to: sidewalks, streets, driveways, highways and airport runways.
Nomaflex fully complies with ASTM standard specification D8139, and ASTM standard specification D1751 for extrusion, compression recovery and water absorption as tested per ASTM test method D545.

Nomaflex® is a performance engineered foam that sets a new standard for concrete expansion joint fillers. It is a semi-rigid, closed-cell polypropylene foam that simply
performs better and installs faster. Plus, the innovative Nomaflex Cutter tool enables concrete installers to easily trim Nomaflex on the job site or pre-score a removable 1/2” void for use with sealants. This saves labor and money by eliminating the need of an additional void cap system.
PERFORMANCE
Nomaflex is a closed-cell polypropylene foam that can be used in residential, commercial, civil, municipal and industrial applications. It will not absorb water, swell
and disintegrate and it extends the service life of concrete by reducing the amount of imcompressible materials entering the joint. Nomaflex does not impede sealant cure time and can be used without a bond breaker with no impact on the long term
performance of the sealant.
Nomaflex resists oils, gas, salts, acetone and other chemicals. It does not leach like
other products and is not sticky. Nomaflex fully complies with ASTM standard
specification D 8139, and ASTM standard specification D 1751 for extrusion,
compression recovery and water absorption as tested per ASTM test method D 545.
INSTALLATION
Nomaflex is a flexible yet semi-rigid foam that can be passed across wet pours without
breaking. It transports easily and is light enough that one person can easily carry
multiple bundles.
Nomaflex can be used with all hot-pour or cold-applied sealants and prevents 3-sided
sealant adhesion. The Nomaflex Cutter is a tool that creates a 1/2” tear-off strip that
once removed, creates a void for sealants. The tear-off strip remains attached until the
installer removes it. Nomaflex is also compatible with plastic edge caps and should be
installed 1/2” below the concrete surface prior to pouring concrete. Nomaflex can be
used as a form and should be installed against any edge where concrete is poured and an expansion joint is required. Spray adhesives can also be used with Nomaflex.
VALUE
Nomaflex is waterproof and can be stored outside. It will not break or flake due to
weather elements. Nomaflex lasts longer and is 100% recyclable. Installers have the
added benefit of a lower installed cost when using Nomaflex.
